About The Bell Shakespeare Company
The Bell Shakespeare Company re-imagines the works of William Shakespeare and other great playwrights, fostering a love of drama among audiences all over Australia through outstanding live performances and educational activities.
Artistic leaders John Bell and Marion Potts work in partnership to demonstrate the brilliance of Shakespeare and other playwrights, engaging excellent artists, discovering new talent, devising exciting collaborations and making Bell Shakespeare one of the most dynamic theatre companies in Australia.
Our history is rich with legends of the stage including directors Michael Bogdanov, Barrie Kosky, Steven Berkoff and Michael Gow, as well as some of Australia's finest actors: Marcus Graham, Brendan Cowell, Essie Davis, Joel Edgerton and Jeremy Sims.
In 2009, after a successful period of expansion, we have an established creative development arm, Mind's Eye; a third Actors At Work team servicing the west coast of Australia; and a record number of touring productions and audiences.
